One of the highlights of the Apple Watch Ultra when it was first introduced was its incredible battery life, which was further enhanced by the company's new low-power mode. However, the watch's first firmware lacked such capability. Finally, it is starting to roll out.

Owners of the Apple Watch Ultra are now receiving the watchOS 9.1 update from Apple, which also includes the ultra-low-power mode that the company promised to release sometime in the fall. By activating this special mode, the business claims that you may obtain up to 60 hours of battery life while still having most wristwatch features functional.

This mode is distinct from the smartwatch's current battery-saving mode, which disables several functionalities, and the Power Reserve mode, which disables all features save the watch function.

While the current low-power mode allows you to log your workouts in the same way as in regular mode and offers full workout fidelity, this new option operates by restricting the number of heart rate measurements and GPS pings. As a result, heart rate/distance measures aren't updated as frequently, which reduces the accuracy of workout tracking. To extend battery life, this low-power mode also disables functions like the always-on display.

Download watchOS 9.1 as soon as it becomes available if you want to give it a try on your Apple Watch Ultra.
