Samsung may finally be ready to pull the wraps off its most ambitious foldable yet. According to reports from South Korea, the company is gearing up to launch its long-awaited Galaxy Z TriFold — the world’s first triple-folding smartphone — on December 5, 2025.
After months of teasers and speculation, Samsung is ready to unveil its first triple-folding smartphone—a tablet-sized device that showcases its latest innovation in flexible screen design and aims to reclaim its dominance in the foldable market.
Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold Limited Launch, Premium Price
As per the South Korean outlet The Chosun Daily, Samsung has internally finalized plans for a dedicated launch on December 5, followed by immediate sales in select markets. However, early availability may be restricted to South Korea and a handful of Asian markets, possibly including Singapore, China, and the UAE, at least initially. A wider global rollout, including the U.S. and Europe, remains uncertain for now.
The TriFold will reportedly carry a hefty price tag of around ₩4.4 million, or roughly $3,000 USD, making it Samsung’s most expensive foldable to date. Analysts say the company reportedly plans to produce only 20,000 to 30,000 units initially, treating the TriFold as an “ultra-premium showcase” rather than a mass-market product.
A Tablet-Sized Display That Folds Twice
True to its name, the Galaxy Z TriFold features a double-folding design, which allows the device to transform from a phone into a 10-inch tablet. It features a 6.5-inch external display when folded, while the internal display stretches to 10 inches when fully unfolded — larger than the 8-inch screen on Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Despite having three display panels, the TriFold is said to be surprisingly slim — only 4.2mm thick when unfolded and around 14mm when folded, which is thinner than many early foldable prototypes and comparable to the latest dual-fold models from Huawei.
Powerful Specs And A Bigger Battery
Leaked specifications suggest that the Galaxy Z TriFold will pack a 5,600 mAh battery, the largest ever in a Samsung foldable. The device is also expected to support 25W wired charging, Fast Wireless Charging 2.0, and Wireless PowerShare.
Under the hood, the Galaxy Z TriFold is expected to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon flagship chipset, possibly the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 or 8 Elite for Galaxy, though it’s not yet confirmed.
On the camera front, popular tipster Evan Blass shares on X that the phone will sport a 200MP main camera, while its outer display will boast up to 2,600 nits of peak brightness and 1,600 nits on the inner panel, which are both significant upgrades for usability outdoors.
Redefining The Future Of Foldables
As one industry source told The Chosun Daily, “Samsung’s goal isn’t just to sell more phones. It’s to prove that it can still define what’s next in mobile technology.”
With a $3,000 price tag and ground-breaking design, the Galaxy Z TriFold may not be affordable — but it’s poised to be one of the most talked-about gadgets of the year.
